Tampa / Land O’ Lakes Newborn Photography

1 07 2010

One of my wife’s friend is pregnant (she knows a ton of em’) and wanted to surprise her husband with some maternity pictures. She was a great mom-to-be to shoot. It was a quick shoot but got some great shots that I know her husband will love.

Newborn / Family Photoshoot

1 07 2010

Needless to say this was an easy shoot for me.  Jen, Mike, Maverick, and now Maddox came back to my home studio now that he’s out of Jen’s tummy.  Super mellow kid and already takes after his dad :-)

Another one of my friends just had a baby and wanted some photo’s taken (ok I told her she better come over and let me take pictures) of her newborn son. He is probably one of the easiest going kids I have ever met. Barely cried, didn’t wake up when you moved him around, and one cool kid all around.

One of my wife and mine closest friend is pregnant with her second baby. She really wanted to capture the final month or so of her pregnancy so who else did she call but her dear old friend Patrick.

While the journey a woman’s body takes during pregnancy is nothing short of amazing, stretch marks aren’t something that she really cared for but Photoshop is truly amazing. I was able to get nearly all the stretch marks off for a remarkable smooth skin.

Her first child is my son’s best friend (fitting I suppose that her and my wife have been friends for over 10 years). At any rate, congrats on the second baby Jen and am looking forward to the newborn pictures :-)

Tampa Newborn Photographer - Baby Payton

20 11 2009

Baby Payton came over to my home studio for her first photo shoot and I couldn’t be happier. She was a little cranky but calmed down enough for me to get some great photo’s that I’m sure both Mom and Dad will love.

Enjoy your tease :-)

Tampa Potrait Photographer - Mike MacArthur - Saxophone Professional

17 11 2009

My best client, Mike MacArthur needed a couple quick portraits done for an upcoming gig and I was happy to help him out. It was a quick shoot but we achieved what he needed to for this gig and probably future promotional needs.

Christmas Card Photoshoot

15 11 2009

I wanted to change things up a little from what I’ve done in the past and what I’ve seen out there and think I’ve done just that. I originally wanted to make a fireplace where my son would be sitting down with some coal dust on his face while drinking milk and eating cookies meant for Santa. I soon realized I’m not the best carpenter and didn’t want to spend $100 in supplies.

After running some more ideas around in my head I figured I’d make a chimney and have my son popping out. The total cost was about $40 in supplies and a couple hours worth of my time.

Well I’ve got quite a schedule of neighbors coming over for some family shots and some individual shots of their kids. Here’s a quick on of my neighbors down the street. Best part is they brought me some food too :-)

Had fun and hope you like the picture(s)

Second Shooting/Assistanting Tampa - Sarasota Wedding Photographer Christopher Garofalo

8 11 2009

I had the pleasure of assisting Christopher Garofalo at the Cassandra and Michael wedding down in Sarasota.  You couldn’t have asked for better weather!  This was my first time assisting / acting as a second shoot for an established wedding photographer and can’t wait to do it again.

Starting to turn a hobby into something more

27 10 2009

Over the past couple of months I have been told by many people that I should start to pursue Photography as something more than a hobby. With all the recent changes at my current employer, I’m starting to put more thought into their suggestions.

live-and-kickinOne such person has been Mike MacArthur, an accomplished Saxophone player that recently came out with a brand new CD, Live & Kickin’. He asked me to come out and take some shots during his live recording and am I ever happy he did. Not only is Mike a friend, he is also amazing at his art. Taking photographs of him was a little difficult because his music is energetic, funky, and all around great to listen to.

Over all, he and the rest of his band loved the shots and it provided me a great learning experience.    Fast forward to a couple of weeks after the recording.

Mike MacArthur - Clearwater Jazz HolidayMike was picked as an opener for the opening day of the Clearwater Jazz Holiday, celebrating it’s 30th year.  Playing along side Mike was guitarist Nate Najar.  Both Mike and Nate brought down the house with songs from both of their recent albums.

Not only was his Thursday performance awesome but Mike was asked to assemble a horn section to accompany Brian Bromberg, a Grammy nominated bass guitarist that until Sunday night, I had never heard before.  With only a couple days to put it together, Mike and the Funk Street Horn section did an amazing job.  I couldn’t be happier that Mike invited me to come out again and take some photographs.
